A bord de la montgolfière « Esprit Breitling Orbiter », pilotée par Brian Jones, pour atteindre en 18 minutes une altitude de 2’400 mètres. Son aile sur le dos, les 4 réacteurs allumés, il s’est alors élancé de la nacelle du ballon. Après quelques minutes de vol pour se stabiliser et attaquer l’angle de son looping de manière optimale, Jetman a pu effectuer deux rotations devant la montgolfière.
